NEURONS

Neuron is the structural and functional unit of Nervous tissues.
Neurons have the least power of regeneration.
Structure of Neuron consist of 3 parts:-
- - Dendrites/ Dendrons
  - Cyton (Cell body/ Soma)
  - Axon
Cyton of Neurons have groups of ribosomes and RER called Nissil’s Granules.
Long fibre of the Neuron is called Axon which can be grey (non-myelinated) or white (myelinated).
Myelin Sheath is secreted by Schwann cells.
Cytoplasm of Axon is called Axoplasm and its cell membrane is called Axolemma.
